2022 Nissan Rogue Safety Ratings

If you’re looking for a new compact SUV in the Tallahassee area, you can’t go wrong with a new Nissan Rogue! This small four-door SUV enjoys excellent performance specs thanks to a 201-horsepower 1.5L turbocharged engine, and sleek features inside and out. The Rogue also gets exceptional fuel efficiency—30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway—and a spacious cabin with plenty of room for passengers and cargo alike.

But is the 2022 Nissan Rogue safe? More often than not, SUVs tend to be sold as family vehicles, which means that safety is a major deciding factor for prospective drivers. Fortunately, the 2022 Nissan Rogue comes with a wide variety of advanced safety and driver-assistance features designed to protect you and your passengers on every ride. But you don’t have to take our word for it! The team at Kraft Nissan has put together a guide outlining the Nissan Rogue ratings from the two most important safety organizations—the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). We’ve also included some highlighted 2022 Nissan Rogue safety features, so you can get an idea of how this SUV protects you on the road.

2022 Nissan Rogue Safety Ratings: IIHS

The IIHS has awarded the 2022 Nissan Rogue its highest safety award, the Top Safety Pick+. It rates the front crash prevention for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian collisions as “superior,” and crashworthiness features such as roof strength and head restraints as “good,” both of which are the highest ranking for their respective categories. The Nissan Rogue’s standard Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection (more on that below) was able to avoid a collision with other vehicles and pedestrians at speed of up to 37 miles an hour, automatically reducing speed and issuing alerts to the driver. The IIHS also gives top marks to the Rogue’s LED headlights and child safety systems.

2022 Nissan Rogue Safety Ratings: NHTSA

The NHTSA rates vehicles for their crash-test safety in three categories: frontal crash, side crash, and rollover. These tests simulate crashes in various scenarios designed to mimic real-world conditions—for example, the frontal test simulates a head-on collision between two vehicles moving at 35 miles an hour. The 2022 Rogue received a four-star rating for frontal crash, five stars for side crash, and four stars for rollover. The NHTSA particularly praises the Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Crash Imminent Braking, and Dynamic Brake Support features.

2022 Nissan Rogue Safety Features

Now that we’ve had a chance to go over the 2022 Nissan Rogue safety ratings, let’s take a look at the features that made those ratings possible! The Nissan Rogue has been designed from the ground up to make every ride around Pensacola and beyond as smooth, safe, and comfortable as possible for everyone inside the cabin. Here’s a selection of the best standard and available 2022 Nissan Rogue safety features:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Braking: The Nissan Rogue is always monitoring road conditions ahead of you, keeping track of your speed and the speed of the car in front of you. It’ll let you know if you’re getting too close, and will engage the emergency brakes if a forward collision is imminent.
  • Rear Automatic Braking: Just as the Rogue looks ahead of you on the road, it scans behind you when you’re in reverse. If it detects an object, person, or anything else behind your SUV, it will engage the brakes to avoid a rear collision.
  • Blind Spot Warning: Keep an eye on your blind spot with this helpful feature, which sends out an alert when there’s something hiding in it.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert: If you’re backing out of a parking spot or into the road, the Rogue will monitor conditions and warn you if cars or pedestrians are passing by.
  • Lane Departure Warning: If you’re unknowingly straying out of your lane on the road, the Rogue will gently remind you with an alert or a buzz on the steering wheel to let you know.
  • High Beam Assist: The Rogue will automatically detect vehicles coming towards you in the other direction and deactivate the high beams, before reactivating them when the vehicle has passed.
  • Intelligent Around View Mirror: The Intelligent Around View Monitor uses four camera views stitched together to give you a 360-degree view of conditions around your vehicle, so you can keep an eye on everything as you navigate into or out of a parking spot.
  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning: This class-exclusive feature watches two car lengths ahead, alerting you with a warning when it detects deceleration in front of you.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition: With Traffic Sign Recognition, you can enjoy peace of mind on the road as the Nissan Rogue scans nearby road signs and informs you of speed limits, road closures, and more!
